About the Rookery
During an era that saw Jimmy Carter ascend to the White House and Macon’s own Capricorn Records release hit after hit, making music history, the Rookery was just being born. Today, the Rookery bustles on, serving Allman Burgers and Jimmy Carter shakes to Maconites and travelers from far and wide.
Voted Best Burger two years in a row, the Rookery will not disappoint. Other noteworthy features are the onion rings, hand-cut fries, milkshakes and extensive craft beer list. The Rookery does not accept reservations.
Dovetail burst on the seen in 2012 under the creative guidance of Chefs Doug Sanneman and Brad Stevens. Macon’s first farm-to-table restaurant wasted no time picking up multiple recognitions, including a feature in Southern Living, multiple Open Table awards, The Georgia Trend Silver Spoon award and 4 of 4 stars in the The Macon Telegraph. About H&H Soul Food
H&H specializes in southern comfort and soul food. The restaurant is a Macon attraction made famous by The Allman Brothers Band. Molly Hatchet and the Wet Willie Band were also regular attendees of the H&H. It has also been the meeting place for civil rights activists, the NAACP and Georgia state presidents and officers. The menu resembles a “meat and three” with rotating specials. A featured biscuits menu was recently introduced with rave reviews! This restaurant has and will continue to stand the test of time, being rooted on the same strong values that have supported the community for decades.
The Moonhanger Group is the parent company of Rookery, Dovetail, H&H Soul Food, El Camino, The Hargray Capitol Theatre and Moonhanger Catering. Moonhanger Group is owned by Wes Griffith and Chad Evans, who are both local enthusiasts and have been in the service industry and entertainment field all of their lives.
